What this JFET op-amp delivers
The Analog Devices OP42GPZ is a single JFET-input operational amplifier in an 8-pin PDIP through-hole package. Its 50 V/µs slew rate and 10 MHz gain-bandwidth product make it a fit for fast-settling analog signal chains — DAC output buffers, waveform generators, and active filters where the signal edge matters. The JFET input stage keeps input bias current at 130 pA, which preserves accuracy in high-impedance sensor interfaces and photodiode amplifiers.
Output drive and quiescent draw
Each channel delivers 33 mA output current — enough to drive a load to ±10 V or feed a successive ADC input. Quiescent supply current is 5.1 mA, which is moderate for a fast JFET op-amp; not a low-power part for battery gear, but reasonable for a multi-channel board where the rail budget is a few tens of milliamps.
