Class D amplifier in a 1.35x1.44 mm WLP
The MAX98361AEWL+ is a digital-input Class D audio amplifier from Analog Devices, delivering 3.2 W into a 4 Ω load from a single mono channel. Housed in a 9-WLP (1.35 x 1.44 mm) wafer-level package, the die sits directly on the board with no plastic overmold — the thermal path runs through the solder balls to the PCB copper, so the board layout and via count set the actual power dissipation ceiling.
Supply and temperature envelope
Output power is specified at 3.2 W into 4 Ω with a 5 V supply — the actual power into 8 Ω or at lower supply voltages follows the standard Class D derating. The 1-channel mono output suits portable speakers, soundbars, and IoT audio endpoints where board area is tight.
The 9-WLP package is lead-free and compatible with standard RoHS reflow profiles. No official pin-compatible second source or successor is listed; the BOM line is single-sourced to this ADI order code.
