The Maxim Integrated MAX98360AENL+T is a digital-input Class D audio amplifier delivering 3.2 W into a 4 Ω load from a single supply rail. It is a mono (1-channel) device designed for portable and battery-powered audio products where PCB area is at a premium — the 9-bump WLP (1.35 × 1.44 mm) package saves roughly 60% board space versus a typical MSOP-8 or DFN alternative. The digital input (I²S / TDM) keeps the analog signal chain short and noise-immune, useful when the amplifier sits close to a wireless transceiver or a switching regulator.
Supply voltage and temperature — fit for portable and industrial
The -40°C low end also covers cold-chain storage and winter outdoor deployment.
Package and layout — the 9-WLP constraint
The 9-bump wafer-level package (WLP) measures 1.35 × 1.44 mm. There is no exposed thermal pad — all heat dissipates through the solder bumps and into the PCB copper. The datasheet's recommended land pattern uses 0.25 mm diameter solder-mask-defined pads on a 0.4 mm pitch.
The part is ROHS3 compliant.
