Supply rail and temperature envelope
Built-in depop circuitry suppresses the turn-on thump that otherwise couples through the speaker into the user's ear. Differential inputs reject ground noise picked up on the audio trace between the codec and the amp — a common headache in mixed-signal boards where the digital return current shares the ground plane.
