GMSL deserializer for coaxial or STP camera links
The Maxim Integrated MAX9286GTN+ is a GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) deserializer that receives serialized data from a remote camera or sensor over a single coaxial or STP cable and converts it back to a parallel output. It operates at a data rate of 1 Mbps and is designed for automotive surround-view, driver monitoring, and other camera-based systems that need to run video and control signals over a single coax pair.
Package and supply rails — what the layout engineer needs
The 1 Mbps serial link is relatively slow by modern GMSL standards, which simplifies the layout: no controlled-impedance trace gymnastics for the coax input at this speed, but keep the deserializer close to the connector to minimise stub length on the video bus.
