What this 1.8V LDO brings to the board
The MAX8877EZK18-T is a fixed-output linear regulator from Maxim Integrated that delivers a clean 1.8V rail at up to 150mA. It's built for surface-mount assembly in the thin TSOT-23-5 package — hand-solderable with a fine tip and some patience, but really at home in a reflow or hot-air rework station. The enable pin lets you gate the output for power sequencing or low-power sleep modes, and the protection set (overcurrent, overtemperature, reverse polarity, short circuit) covers the common fault cases without needing external clamp diodes or a crowbar.
Dropout and quiescent current — what they mean for your rail budget
Dropout voltage is typically 165mV at the full 150mA load. Quiescent current is 180µA typical.
Temperature range and where it fits
Rated for -40°C to 85°C ambient, this regulator covers industrial and commercial environments — think outdoor telecom gear, factory sensors, or a bench power supply. Not rated for under-hood automotive or downhole tools, but fine for most PCB-level local regulation inside an enclosure.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The RoHS status is marked non-compliant, so verify your assembly line's exemption allowance.
