150 mA LDO with fixed 3.8 V rail
The MAX8877EUK38-T is a single-output positive LDO from Analog Devices, delivering 150 mA at a fixed 3.8 V. The 165 mV typical dropout at full load means the input rail needs at least 3.965 V to stay in regulation — a 3.3 V rail won't cut it, but a 5 V bus or a 4.2 V Li-ion cell has enough headroom.
Quiescent draw and protection set
Quiescent current is 180 µA typical, with a maximum supply current of 100 µA — the part draws its own bias from the input regardless of load, so in a battery-powered sensor waking once a minute the 180 µA Iq dominates the sleep budget. The protection block covers overcurrent, overtemperature, reverse polarity, and short circuit, which simplifies the external component count on a board that sees field wiring or hot-plug events. The Enable control pin lets a GPIO or supervisor shut down the output for power sequencing or low-power standby.
Supplied in a SOT-23-5 package (also designated SC-74A), the footprint is 2.9 mm × 1.6 mm with a 0.95 mm pin pitch — a common layout that shares land patterns with many 5-pin LDOs. The bulk packaging means reels are not guaranteed; order quantities come loose in tubes or bags, so plan for pick-and-place feeder setup accordingly.
