LDO for portable and battery-powered boards
The MAX8874REUK-T is an Analog Devices LDO linear regulator delivering up to 120 mA from a 6.5 V maximum input rail, with a positive output that is either adjustable or fixed at 2.8 V (the fixed voltage is 2.8 V, and the adjustable range starts at 1.25 V). A single regulator in the SC-74A / SOT-753 package (supplied as SOT-23-5), it is aimed at low-dropout applications where the input-to-output headroom is tight — the maximum dropout is 0.12 V at 50 mA load.
Dropout, quiescent draw, and protection set
With a quiescent current of 150 µA and a maximum supply current of 82 µA, the regulator's own consumption stays low enough for always-on rails in battery-operated equipment. Protection covers over-current, over-temperature, reverse polarity, and short-circuit events — the part survives a hard output short and a reversed input without external clamp diodes. The enable control pin lets the system shut down the output rail entirely, dropping the supply current to near zero when the load is idle.
