Active production — fixed 3.3V rail for noise-sensitive loads
The MAX8868EUK33-T is an active-production LDO from Maxim Integrated, delivering a fixed 3.3V output at up to 150mA from a maximum 6.5V input rail. The 63dB PSRR at 10kHz means it rejects switching-regulator ripple in that band — useful for powering analog front-ends, ADC reference buffers, or sensor bias where a clean 3.3V rail matters.
Dropout, quiescent, and protection — the BOM-fit numbers
Dropout is 165mV typical at full load — the input rail must stay at least that margin above 3.3V across the load range, or regulation drops. Quiescent current is 180µA typical; the maximum supply current is 100µA, so the part's own draw stays low in always-on battery applications. The protection set covers overcurrent, overtemperature, reverse polarity, and short circuit — the reverse-polarity clamp is notable: it protects the regulator and downstream load if the input supply is accidentally reversed, a common failure in field-wired systems.
Package and compliance — SOT-23-5, RoHS non-compliant
Housed in an SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) surface-mount package, the part fits a standard 5-pin footprint with 0.95mm pitch. The Enable control pin allows the output to be gated by a logic signal, useful for sequencing multiple rails. The RoHS status is non-compliant — this is a lead-bearing part, so it cannot be used in RoHS-mandated assemblies without an exemption.
