Product details

8-digit LED driver with serial interface

The MAX7219ENG+ is an 8-digit LED display driver from Analog Devices, designed to drive common-cathode 7-segment displays plus decimal point. It handles up to 8 digits in a single DIP package, reducing the I/O count a microcontroller would otherwise need for direct segment multiplexing. Communication is over a 4-wire serial interface (data in, data out, load, clock), which daisy-chains cleanly for multi-digit or multi-module panels. The supply range is 4 V to 5.5 V, drawing up to 330 mA when driving all segments at full brightness.
