The MAX6789TB+ is a multi-chemistry battery monitor from Analog Devices, designed to supervise a 2-cell battery stack. Its primary function is to monitor battery voltage and provide fault detection, including reverse battery protection, which prevents damage if the battery is installed backwards. The 10-WFDFN exposed pad package (3x3 mm) provides a low thermal resistance path to the PCB ground plane, which is critical for dissipating heat from the internal monitoring circuitry during continuous operation.
