Temperature sensor with local and remote channels
The Maxim Integrated MAX6695YAUB+ is a digital temperature sensor that monitors both its own die temperature (local) and the temperature of an external diode-connected transistor (remote), using a 10-bit ADC for measurement resolution.
The MAX6695YAUB+ is rated with a highest accuracy of ±3.8°C and a lowest accuracy of ±4.4°C across the full -40°C to 125°C range.
Features that matter in-system
Built-in features include a one-shot conversion mode for low-power polling, a programmable temperature limit with an output switch for overtemperature alert, and a standby mode to reduce quiescent current between measurements.
The 10-pin uMAX/uSOP footprint is shared with several other Maxim temperature sensors, so a board layout can often accommodate multiple BOM options without a respin.
