Dual-mode output and dropout margin
The MAX6470UT33AD3 is a single-output positive LDO from Analog Devices, delivering 300 mA with a maximum dropout of 0.18 V at full load. The output is configurable as a fixed 3.3 V rail or an adjustable output down to 1.2 V, selected by the external resistor divider — this dual-mode flexibility lets the same BOM position serve either a fixed-voltage load or a variable post-regulator stage.
Protection suite and control interface
Built-in protection covers over-current, over-temperature, reverse polarity, and short-circuit events — the part survives a sustained output short without damage, and the thermal shutdown cycle prevents junction runaway. The Reset and Shutdown control pins allow the system supervisor to sequence the rail on/off and to assert a reset output when the output falls below regulation, which is typical for MPU core supplies.
Quiescent current and supply budget
Quiescent current is 136 µA typical, with a maximum supply current of 96 µA — the part draws less than 0.1 mA from the input rail when the load is light, which matters for battery-powered designs where the regulator's own consumption competes with the load's sleep current.
Package, temperature grade, and lifecycle
RoHS compliance is listed as non-compliant, so designs requiring RoHS exemption or lead-free soldering must verify compatibility at the assembly level.
