Output voltage range and polarity flexibility
The output can be set anywhere from 1.31V up to 18V (switch breakdown limit) using an external resistor divider, or you can use the internal fixed 12V option. What sets this part apart from many boost regulators is that the output configuration can be positive or negative — the same IC can generate a negative rail by connecting the output to ground and taking the return from the switch node. That makes it useful for biasing op-amp supplies or LCD contrast voltages from a single positive rail.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
