Precision 2.5 V anchor for the signal chain
The MAX6070BAUT25+T: The 300 µA quiescent supply current keeps the thermal budget modest in a dense mixed-signal board.
Noise floor and signal-chain fit
For a 16-bit ADC with a 2.5 V reference, 3 µVrms of reference noise contributes roughly 0.2 LSB of uncertainty — negligible at 16 bits but worth derating at 18-bit or higher resolution where the reference noise floor starts to eat into the converter's effective resolution. The series reference topology means the output is actively buffered — load regulation is inherently tighter than a shunt reference, and the output stays at 2.5 V even when the load current changes by several mA. That matters when the reference feeds a switched-capacitor ADC input that draws current in bursts.
It is RoHS3 compliant and packaged in a standard SOT-23-6 footprint, available in tape and reel or cut tape quantities.
