Product details

Dual 10-bit DAC with buffered voltage output

The MAX5237EUB+ integrates two 10-bit digital-to-analog converters with a voltage-buffered output stage, controlled via a standard SPI interface. Each DAC uses an R-2R ladder architecture, delivering a monotonic transfer function without the glitch energy of segmented designs. Settling time is 10 µs typical, supporting update rates up to 100 kSPS per channel — adequate for closed-loop trim, programmable voltage references, and industrial set-point control.

Supplied in a 10-lead uMAX/uSOP package (3.00 mm width), surface-mount only.

ROHS3 compliant, with no halogen or antimony declarations beyond the standard exemption list.

Frequently asked questions

Does the MAX5237EUB+ require an external voltage reference?

Yes. The reference type is External — the user must supply a stable reference voltage to the REF pin. The DAC output full-scale equals the reference voltage multiplied by the gain setting (unity gain in the standard configuration).

Can the MAX5237EUB+ operate with a 3.3 V digital supply?

The datasheet specifies a 5 V supply for both analog and digital rails. Operating the digital supply below 4.5 V may violate the input logic-high threshold and degrade SPI communication margin. A level shifter is required for 3.3 V host interfaces.

What is the INL/DNL specification for the MAX5237EUB+?

Integral non-linearity is ±0.5 LSB maximum; differential non-linearity is ±1 LSB maximum. The DNL spec guarantees monotonicity — no missing codes across the full 10-bit range.
