What this boost regulator does
The Maxim Integrated MAX5026EUT+T is a step-up (boost) switching regulator in a SOT-23-6 package. It delivers an adjustable output voltage from 3V up to 36V from a 3V to 11V input, with a 260mA switch current limit. No synchronous rectifier inside, so expect slightly lower efficiency at low output voltages compared to a synchronous part, but the simplicity and small footprint make it a common choice for bias supplies, OLED panels, and portable gear.
The 260mA switch current is the peak the internal switch can handle. The 36V maximum output opens applications like biasing avalanche photodiodes or driving a string of LEDs.
It is ROHS3 compliant. For a BOM freeze, this part is safe to specify for new designs.
