USB 2.0 signal routing with fault protection
The MAX4899EETE+T is a dual 3:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer from Analog Devices, built for USB 2.0 signal switching. Its 425 MHz -3 dB bandwidth passes high-speed USB traffic. Fault protection is built in, meaning the switch can tolerate overvoltage or short-circuit conditions on the data lines without latching up or damaging the upstream controller. That matters in field-wired USB ports where a cable fault or hot-plug transient is a real risk.
Store the reels in a dry cabinet if the moisture-sensitive level (MSL) on the reel label calls for it; QFN packages are typically MSL 1 or 2, but verify the bake requirement before opening the sealed bag.
