Dual rail-to-rail op-amp for single-supply signal chains
The Maxim Integrated MAX4132EUA+ is a dual general-purpose operational amplifier with rail-to-rail output, housed in an 8-uMAX/uSOP surface-mount package. The rail-to-rail output stage lets the signal swing to within millivolts of the supply rails, which is useful in low-voltage, single-supply designs where headroom is tight. Typical applications include sensor conditioning, active filters, and buffering in portable or industrial equipment operating from 2.7 V to 6.5 V supplies.
The 10 MHz gain-bandwidth product sets the closed-loop bandwidth for a given gain configuration. For a gain-of-10 stage, the usable bandwidth is roughly 1 MHz, which covers most audio, instrumentation, and low-frequency control loops. The 4V/µs slew rate ensures the output can swing several volts in under a microsecond, so fast pulse edges or high-frequency sine waves up to several hundred kilohertz reproduce without slew-induced distortion. Together these ratings place the MAX4132EUA+ in the mid-speed category — fast enough for many signal-conditioning tasks, but with a supply current low enough to keep the thermal budget manageable.
Each output can source or sink 50 mA.
