Product details

3.2 Gbps laser diode driver for SFP+ optical modules

The MAX3740AETG+T is a single-channel laser diode driver from Analog Devices, designed for fiber-optic transceiver applications up to 3.2 Gbps. It integrates the bias and modulation current paths for driving a laser diode in SFP, SFP+, and parallel optical modules. The bias current is set at 15 mA and the modulation current at 15 mA — these two parameters directly control the laser's optical output power and extinction ratio. The 55 mA total supply current at 3.3 V means the driver's own dissipation stays under 200 mW, which matters for thermal management inside a sealed transceiver housing.

24-TQFN exposed-pad package

Housed in a 24-lead WFQFN with an exposed pad (4x4 mm body per the supplier device package designation 24-TQFN). The 0.5 mm pitch QFN footprint is routable on a standard 4-layer FR4 board.
