The MAX3471EUA+ is a half-duplex RS485/RS422 transceiver from Analog Devices, integrating one driver and one receiver in a single 8-uMAX/uSOP package.
Data rate and receiver margin
The transceiver supports a maximum data rate of 64 kbps, which is the ceiling for the RS485 bus timing — the actual throughput depends on cable length, termination, and the number of nodes on the bus. Receiver hysteresis is specified at 32 mV, providing noise immunity on the differential bus lines. This margin prevents chatter on the receiver output when the input differential voltage is near zero, reducing false edges on long cable runs.
