The 500 mV receiver hysteresis is generous — standard RS-232 receivers often spec 200–300 mV — so it rejects ground shifts and crosstalk on longer cables. If your BOM already has a 3.3V rail, you skip a regulator.

Housed in a 20-TSSOP (4.40 mm width) with surface-mount leads. Standard MSL handling applies — no special bake requirements beyond the usual floor-life rules for TSSOP.
