250 kbps RS-232 link — what the data rate tells you
Its 250 kbps data rate is the classic RS-232 sweet spot — fast enough for serial console, modem control, and legacy peripheral links, but not so fast that it demands careful PCB layout or expensive cabling. The 3V to 5.5V supply range means it plays nice with both 3.3V and 5V logic, so you can drop it into a mixed-voltage BOM without a level shifter. The 500 mV receiver hysteresis gives you noise margin on long cable runs — useful when the harness runs through a noisy industrial cabinet.
Commercial temp — indoor or office gear only
This part suits office equipment, point-of-sale terminals, and indoor instrumentation.
For production planning, this is a low-risk line item.
