RS-232 link for 3V-5.5V rails
The MAX3223EAP+T is a full-duplex RS-232 transceiver with two drivers and two receivers, designed for serial communication links where the supply rail spans 3V to 5.5V. Data rate is specified at 120 kbps, which covers standard UART speeds up to 115.2 kbps with margin for the cable capacitance and load. The 300 mV receiver hysteresis filters noise on the incoming RS-232 lines, reducing the chance of false edge triggers on a noisy backplane.
