The MAX3221ECUE+T is a single-channel RS232 full-duplex transceiver from Analog Devices, delivering one driver and one receiver in a 16-TSSOP package. The 500 mV receiver hysteresis cleans up noisy lines — useful when the cable run picks up interference from adjacent switching supplies or motor drives in a panel.
The 16-TSSOP body (4.40 mm width) is a common footprint; the same land pattern serves many RS232 parts, so a board spin to swap in a different transceiver is straightforward.
