The MAX3160EEAP+T is a full-duplex transceiver that handles RS232, RS422, and RS485 protocols from a single 3V to 5.5V supply, making it a single-BOM-line solution for mixed-protocol backplanes or multi-drop field buses. With 2 drivers and 2 receivers on board and a 10 Mbps data rate ceiling, it covers the typical RS485/RS422 signalling window for industrial automation links and the slower RS232 handshake lines on the same IC.
