RS-485/RS-422 full-duplex transceiver, 500 kbps
The MAX3073EASD+ is a single RS-485/RS-422 transceiver from Analog Devices, configured as a full-duplex 1/1 driver/receiver pair. Data rate is specified at 500 kbps — at this speed on a typical RS-485 bus, the maximum cable length is roughly 1200 meters before signal degradation from DC resistance and AC attenuation becomes the limiting factor. The 100 mV receiver hysteresis provides noise immunity against ground shifts and reflections on long stubs. This transceiver can sit on a motor-drive control board or a solar-inverter communication port without derating the ambient ceiling.
Package and board-fit — SOIC-14
Housed in a 14-SOIC package with 0.154-inch body width and 3.90 mm pitch, the MAX3073EASD+ uses the standard SOIC-14 footprint. Surface-mount assembly with a standard reflow profile for SOIC packages applies.
