Technical details

2.7-5.5V input, 600mA synchronous buck — the 4MHz edge

The MAX17620ATA+T: Its 4 MHz switching frequency keeps the inductor and output capacitor small enough for a 2×2 mm TDFN footprint — the 8-TDFN-EP (2x2) package fits under a 3×3 mm outline with room for passives on a two-layer board.

Output adjust range and thermal reach

The -40°C to +125°C operating range covers industrial ambient and under-hood automotive environments — the junction temperature margin matters when the converter is running at full 600 mA in a 85°C enclosure. Internal synchronous rectification means no external Schottky diode is needed — the low-side FET handles the freewheel current, and the efficiency gain shows up at light loads where a diode's forward drop would dominate.
