Switching frequency and thermal range
The switching frequency is programmable from 400 kHz to 2.2 MHz — a lower frequency improves efficiency at the cost of larger magnetics, while a higher frequency shrinks the inductor and capacitor footprint but increases switching losses. The 12-TDFN (3x3 mm) exposed-pad package (supplier package 12-TDFN) provides a low thermal resistance path to the PCB ground plane; the exposed paddle must be soldered to a copper area for rated current delivery.
