Active production — no end-of-life notice on record
The MAX167CCWG: This is a RoHS non-compliant part — a legacy lead-bearing finish that excludes it from RoHS-mandated markets but remains available for existing designs, mil/aero, or exempt applications where the exemption still applies.
12-bit SAR ADC with 100k SPS — the throughput ceiling
The MAX167CCWG is a 12-bit successive-approximation-register (SAR) ADC with a sample-and-hold front end, sampling at 100k samples per second. Single-ended input with a 1:1 S/H-to-ADC ratio — one channel, one conversion per trigger. The parallel data interface outputs all 12 bits on separate pins in one bus cycle, so the host reads the full word without serial clock overhead. The internal reference eliminates the need for an external voltage reference IC, but the reference accuracy and drift are fixed by the on-chip bandgap — no external trimming option.
Dual-rail supply — the BOM constraint to plan for
This dual-rail requirement is the single most common fit issue — a board designed for a single-supply ADC will not run this part without a negative rail generator (e.g., a charge-pump inverter or a separate -12 V rail). The commercial temperature grade (0°C to 70°C) limits deployment to indoor, temperature-controlled environments — no automotive, industrial, or outdoor use without active thermal management.
24-SOIC wide body — footprint and PCB integration
Housed in a 24-SOIC wide-body package (0.295" body width, 7.50 mm), surface-mount, supplied in bulk tube. The 7.50 mm width is the SOIC-W (wide) variant — not the same footprint as the narrower 3.90 mm SOIC. Verify the PCB land pattern matches the wide-body mechanical drawing before layout.
