CCFL backlight controller for LCD power
The MAX1611CSE-T: It operates as a supervisory power IC that generates the high-voltage AC waveform needed to strike and sustain the lamp. The switching frequency is set internally across a 145 kHz to 290 kHz range — the actual operating point depends on the external LC tank and transformer parasitics. The part is marked as having no dimming function, so brightness control must be implemented externally — either by a PWM signal fed to the inverter's shutdown pin or by a separate dimming controller stage. This is a design-in consideration for any BOM that requires adjustable backlight intensity.
