Package and board-fit — 6-TDFN with exposed pad
The MAX1605ETT comes in a 6-WDFN Exposed Pad package (supplier device package 6-TDFN-EP, 3x3 mm). Without a proper thermal via array under the pad, the junction temperature rises above the 85°C ambient ceiling in continuous operation. The Bulk packaging means these are not on tape-and-reel. For a pick-and-place line, you will need to transfer them to a feeder-compatible carrier or hand-place them. Store the reels dry — the exposed pad package is moisture-sensitive, and the Bulk format lacks the moisture-barrier bag that tape-and-reel usually ships in.
Input-to-output range — what the 30V ceiling means for LCD bias
The MAX1605ETT takes a 2.4V to 5.5V input and boosts it to an adjustable 0.8V to 30V output. That 30V upper limit is the bias rail for a small-to-medium LCD panel — think 7-inch to 15-inch displays that need a 15-25V gate-on voltage for the TFT array. The single-output topology means one bias rail per device; a panel requiring separate VGH and VGL needs two of these or a multi-output part. The 2.4V minimum input lets it run from a single lithium-ion cell (3.0-4.2V nominal) or a 3.3V regulated rail with headroom. The 5.5V input maximum means it is not suited for 12V or 24V industrial supplies — a separate pre-regulator is needed if the input bus is higher.
Lifecycle and compliance — active but RoHS-exempt
RoHS compliance is marked as non-compliant. This means the part contains lead or other restricted substances above the exemption thresholds. It is usable in applications with a RoHS exemption (e.g., military, aerospace, medical implantables, or high-reliability industrial where lead-free solder joints are not acceptable). For a standard commercial RoHS build, a lead-free alternative must be sourced.
Sourcing and availability — quoted to order
The MAX1605ETT is sourced through independent distribution channels. No stock-holding claim is made — each order is sourced per RFQ. The Bulk package format and RoHS non-compliant status narrow the pool of available stock. Expect to confirm lead time at RFQ, especially for quantities above reel quantities.
