High-side N-channel driver with 2.4A gate drive
The LTC4440IMS8E#PBF is a single-channel high-side N-channel MOSFET driver from Analog Devices. It delivers 2.4A peak source and sink current, enough to charge and discharge the gate capacitance of medium-power MOSFETs in switching power supplies and DC-DC converters. The bootstrap supply allows the high-side gate voltage to ride up to 80V above ground, covering 48V and 60V bus architectures with margin. Rise and fall times are 10ns and 7ns typical, keeping switching losses low at moderate frequencies.
The driver operates from an 8V to 15V supply rail, which matches the bias supply common in telecom and industrial power stages. The logic input thresholds are 1.3V (VIL) and 1.6V (VIH), so a 3.3V logic output from a controller or PWM generator drives it directly without a level shifter.
Temperature grade and package for harsh environments
The 8-MSOP-EP package with exposed pad (0.118" width, 3.00mm) needs a thermal via pattern under the pad to keep the junction within limits at full 2.4A switching current.
