Product details

2 A synchronous buck in a 3x3 mm DFN

The LTC3624IDD#PBF is a step-down (buck) switching regulator delivering 2 A of continuous output current from a 2.7 V to 17 V input range. It integrates both high-side and low-side MOSFETs for synchronous rectification, which eliminates the external catch diode and improves efficiency at low output voltages. The output is adjustable from 0.6 V up to the input voltage.

1 MHz switching — inductor sizing and BOM

The fixed 1 MHz switching frequency lets you select a small inductor and low-value ceramic output capacitors, keeping the total solution footprint compact. The 1 MHz rate also keeps switching losses manageable at moderate load currents, so the part can run without forced air cooling in many enclosure designs.

Housed in an 8-lead WFDFN with exposed pad (3x3 mm body), the LTC3624IDD#PBF relies on the pad for heat sinking. A proper via pattern under the pad to a ground plane is expected for full 2 A continuous operation at high ambient temperatures. The part is surface-mount only.

No end-of-life notification or last-time-buy window has been announced, so it remains a safe selection for new production builds.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between LTC3624IDD#PBF and LTC3624IDD#TRPBF?

The two order codes are electrically identical. The difference is packaging: LTC3624IDD#PBF ships in a Tube, while LTC3624IDD#TRPBF ships in Tape & Reel. Choose the reel variant for automated pick-and-place assembly.
