This is a current-mode buck regulator with synchronous rectification, so the external Schottky catch diode is eliminated and efficiency holds up at light loads. Switching at 2.25 MHz lets the output inductor and capacitor shrink to small 0603 or 0805 footprints — useful when board area is tight.
