Fixed 2.5 V rail with 65 dB ripple rejection
The LT1762EMS8-2.5#PBF is a positive fixed-output LDO from Analog Devices, delivering 150 mA at 2.5 V from an input rail up to 20 V.
Dropout headroom and input range
Maximum dropout is 0.4 V at the full 150 mA load — the input must stay above 2.9 V to keep the output in regulation. With 20 V max input, this LDO can run directly off a 12 V battery or a 15 V unregulated wall supply without a pre-regulator, as long as the power dissipation in the 8-MSOP package stays within the thermal budget. Operating temperature spans -40°C to 125°C, covering automotive under-hood and industrial enclosure ambient. The junction temperature at full load on a standard PCB footprint needs a thermal check — the 8-MSOP's small paddle dissipates roughly 0.5 W before hitting the 125°C limit at 25°C ambient, so higher ambient or continuous full load may require copper area on the board.
Protection set and control
Built-in over-current, over-temperature, and reverse-polarity protection means the LDO survives a shorted output, a thermal runaway event, or a swapped input connection without failing open or damaging downstream circuitry. The Enable pin lets the system shut down the regulator to save quiescent current in sleep modes.
