I2C Li-Ion fuel gauge in a 3x3 TDFN
The DS2786BG+ is a standalone battery monitor from Analog Devices that tracks charge and discharge of single-cell Lithium Ion/Polymer packs over an I2C interface. Housed in a 10-WFDFN Exposed Pad package (3x3 mm, 10-TDFN supplier package), it is a surface-mount part suited for space-constrained portable designs. Operating temperature spans -20°C to 70°C, covering the commercial and most industrial ambient ranges for handheld and battery-backed equipment.
Active production, ROHS3, Tube delivery
The part is ROHS3 Compliant, meeting the current EU restriction-of-hazardous-substances directive without exemptions. Supplied in Tube packaging, the standard quantity per tube is suited for low-to-medium volume assembly and prototyping.
Board-fit and supply integration
I2C interface means two wires (SDA, SCL) carry both data and addressing; pull-up resistors to the host's logic rail are needed, and the bus capacitance limit governs the maximum trace length. The monitor works with single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer chemistries; the host reads accumulated charge and voltage data over the I2C bus to estimate remaining capacity.
