What the 2 µs access time means for your 1-Wire bus
The 2 µs access time sets the timing for the 1-Wire read/write slots; at standard 15 µs time slots this part has margin, so no bus-timing tweaks needed when dropping it into an existing 1-Wire network. Memory is organized as 256 x 16 bits, which is enough for a few dozen calibration constants or a 512-byte configuration block — not for firmware images, but exactly the size you want for a trim pot replacement or a product-ID string. Supply range spans 2.8V to 5.25V, so it runs cleanly on a 3.3V or 5V logic rail without a level translator.
Package and mounting — through-hole simplicity
The DS24B33+ comes in a TO-92-3 through-hole package (TO-226-3, TO-92-3 TO-226AA). The through-hole mount also makes it a practical choice for retrofit or repair work where you're replacing a socketed part.
