SPI digital temp sensor for multi-rail designs
The DS1722S+T&R: Its 11-bit resolution gives 0.0625°C per LSB — fine enough for thermal monitoring of a power supply rail or a processor heatsink without needing an external ADC.
Supply flexibility and shutdown economy
A shutdown mode drops the quiescent current to near-zero — useful for battery-powered loggers that wake once a minute, take a reading, and go back to sleep. The one-shot feature lets the host command a single conversion and then return the part to shutdown, avoiding the continuous-conversion current draw.
Wide temperature grade and SOIC-8 footprint
The local sensing range is -55°C to +120°C, matching the grade; above 120°C the sensor output is not guaranteed, but the die itself survives the full 125°C ambient.
