Temperature range and accuracy for harsh environments
The DS1721U+T&R: Accuracy is ±1°C (typical) and ±2°C (maximum) across the full range — tight enough for thermal management in a server rack or battery pack, where a 2°C offset can trigger a false overtemperature shutdown.
I²C bus integration and programmable features
Digital output via I²C means the sensor connects directly to the SDA/SCL lines of a microcontroller without an ADC — the 11-bit resolution gives 0.0625°C per LSB, enough granularity for most thermal profiling tasks. Programmable limit and resolution, plus one-shot and standby modes, let the host controller wake the sensor, take a reading, and return to low-power sleep — useful in battery-powered loggers where every microamp counts.
Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR) or Cut Tape (CT), the reel format is the standard for pick-and-place assembly — the CT option works for prototype runs or small-batch builds where a full reel is overkill.
