Four-channel isolator with on-chip isolated power
The ADI ADUM6411BRSZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler family that integrates an isolated DC/DC converter on the same die — no external transformer or separate isolated supply module needed. It delivers 150Mbps data rate per channel with 13ns propagation delay and 3ns pulse-width distortion, making it suitable for high-speed SPI, UART, or general-purpose signal isolation in industrial and motor-drive applications. The magnetic coupling technology provides 3750Vrms isolation between input and output sides, with a common-mode transient immunity of 75kV/µs to reject fast switching noise.
3750Vrms isolation — where it fits
The 3750Vrms isolation rating is the reinforced-safety tier for industrial fieldbus interfaces, motor-drive feedback paths, and medical equipment where the isolation barrier must withstand transient overvoltages. The 75kV/µs CMTI ensures the data link stays intact when IGBT or SiC MOSFET switching edges slam the barrier with several kV/µs — a spec that matters more than the headline isolation voltage in inverter and servo-drive designs.
Integrated isolated power — what it saves
That shrinks the BOM by at least one component and saves board area in space-constrained designs like PLC I/O modules or encoder interfaces. The supply voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V on both sides lets it interface directly with 1.8V, 3.3V, or 5V logic without level shifters.
