The ADUM5212ARSZ-RL7 is a 2-channel digital isolator from Analog Devices' IsoPower and iCoupler families. What sets it apart from a plain isolator is the integrated isolated DC-DC converter — it generates a regulated output voltage on the isolated side, so you don't need a separate transformer or isolated module for the secondary-side supply. The 1 Mbps data rate per channel is typical for general-purpose isolation of control signals, SPI buses (at lower clock rates), and status feedback lines. Propagation delay is 50ns max (tpLH / tpHL), with pulse-width distortion held to 10ns max. That timing consistency matters when you're passing edge-triggered signals like encoder pulses or PWM commands — the channel-to-channel skew stays tight enough for most industrial control loops.
2.7V to 5.5V supply — single-rail flexibility
Both sides of the isolator run from a single supply range of 2.7V to 5.5V, so you can interface directly with 3.3V or 5V logic without extra level shifters. The integrated IsoPower converter draws from the primary-side supply and delivers an isolated output — the exact output current depends on the input voltage and load, but it's sized for powering a handful of low-power components on the isolated side (op-amps, small microcontrollers, sensors).
