Integrated isolation and power in one 20-SSOP package
The ADUM5211CRSZ is a 2-channel general-purpose digital isolator from the IsoPower and iCoupler series, combining signal isolation with an integrated isolated DC-DC converter in a single 20-SSOP package. It uses magnetic coupling technology to provide 2500 Vrms of galvanic isolation across the isolation barrier, with a unidirectional channel configuration (one input on side 1, one output on side 2).
The 100 Mbps data rate supports fast digital interfaces such as SPI, UART, or general-purpose GPIO isolation without introducing significant latency — propagation delay is 24 ns max in both directions. The 25 kV/µs minimum common-mode transient immunity ensures the output remains stable during fast voltage transients across the barrier, critical in motor-drive or power-converter applications where high dV/dt events are common. Rise and fall times are 2.5 ns typical, which keeps signal integrity clean at 100 Mbps but may require careful PCB layout to avoid ringing on longer traces.
