5000 Vrms isolation in a 16-SOIC
The ADUM4401BRWZ is a 4-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from the iCoupler® series, using magnetic coupling to pass signals across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier. The 3/1 input-side/side-2 split (three channels forward, one reverse) suits half-duplex interfaces like RS-485 or SPI with a single feedback line.
25 kV/µs CMTI — why it matters for motor drives and inverters
Common-mode transient immunity of 25 kV/µs (minimum) means this isolator keeps data intact when fast voltage spikes slam across the barrier — exactly what happens in motor-drive phases, solar inverters, and industrial power stages. Pulse-width distortion is held to 3 ns max, so the pulse shape stays clean enough for PWM or timing-sensitive links.
It comes in a 16-SOIC wide-body (7.50 mm width) package — surface-mount only, no isolated power output on this variant. The Tube shipping medium is fine for prototype or low-volume builds; for reels check the alternate order code.
Lifecycle and compliance
No official second-source cross-reference exists in the iCoupler family, but the ADUM2401BRIZ shares the same 3/1 channel direction, 10 Mbps data rate, and 5000 Vrms isolation in a similar 16-SOIC package, making it a functional alternative for dual-sourcing evaluation.
