5000 Vrms isolated gate driver with 2.3 A peak drive
The ADI ADUM4121BRIZ is a single-channel isolated gate driver from the iCoupler family, built around magnetic coupling technology. It delivers 2.3 A peak output current across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier, with 150 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity — the combination that makes it a fit for driving IGBTs and SiC MOSFETs in motor drives, industrial inverters, and high-voltage power supplies where noise immunity and safety isolation are both on the critical path. The output supply range of 7.5 V to 35 V covers standard gate drive voltages for silicon and wide-bandgap devices, and the 18 ns typical rise/fall time keeps switching losses contained at moderate frequencies.
Propagation delay and pulse-width distortion — timing budget for the bridge
Maximum propagation delay is 42 ns low-to-high and 53 ns high-to-low, with pulse-width distortion capped at 13 ns. That asymmetry matters when you are timing dead-band between the high-side and low-side switches in a half-bridge — a 13 ns skew eats into your margin directly. The 150 kV/µs CMTI ensures the output does not glitch when the switching node slews at tens of kV/µs, which is the real-world test for a gate driver in a hard-switched inverter.
