2.3 A peak gate drive with 5000 Vrms isolation
The ADUM4121ARIZ-RL is a single-channel isolated gate driver from Analog Devices' iCoupler family, built around magnetic coupling technology. The 5000 Vrms isolation rating and 150 kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) let it hold a clean gate signal through hard-switching events where the ground plane jumps several hundred volts in nanoseconds.
Propagation delay — 42 ns typical, 53 ns max
With a maximum propagation delay of 42 ns low-to-high and 53 ns high-to-low, and pulse-width distortion held to 13 ns, this driver keeps dead-time margins tight. The 18 ns rise and fall times are symmetric, which simplifies timing budget calculations in hard-switched half-bridge and full-bridge topologies. Compared to the sibling ADUM4120ARIZ-RL, which lists 69/79 ns propagation delays, the ADUM4121 is the faster choice for higher switching frequencies or narrower minimum on-times.
Active lifecycle, ROHS3, wide temperature range
It is ROHS3 compliant and carries CSA, UR, and VDE agency approvals. The wide-body 8-SOIC (7.50 mm width) package provides the creepage distance needed to maintain the 5000 Vrms rating across the isolation barrier.
