Isolated gate driver for power switching stages
The ADUM4121ARIZ is a single-channel isolated gate driver from the Analog Devices iCoupler® family, built around magnetic coupling technology.
Key parametrics that define the switching performance
Propagation delay is 42 ns (rising) and 53 ns (falling) maximum, with pulse-width distortion held to 13 ns max. Rise and fall times are symmetric at 18 ns typical. These numbers set the timing budget for dead-time insertion and switching loss calculations in a half-bridge leg. Common-mode transient immunity is rated at 150 kV/µs minimum, which means the output state holds during fast dv/dt events on the isolation barrier — critical in hard-switched converters where the switch node slews at tens of kV/µs. The output supply range spans 4.5 V to 35 V, so the same part can drive logic-level MOSFETs at 5 V or standard IGBTs at 15 V without a secondary regulator.
Temperature grade and deployment context
The 8-SOIC-IC package with 7.50 mm body width provides the creepage distance needed to maintain 5000Vrms isolation in the end assembly.
