What this iCoupler isolator is and where it goes
The ADUM3301ARWZ-RL is a 3-channel, unidirectional digital isolator from ADI's iCoupler magnetic-coupling family. It provides 2500Vrms isolation across a 16-SOIC wide-body package, with a 1Mbps data rate and 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity. The supply range spans 3V to 5.5V, so it bridges 3.3V and 5V logic domains without extra level shifters.
The channel configuration is 2 inputs on side 1 and 1 input on side 2 — a 2/1 split that matches common isolated SPI patterns (SCLK, MOSI from the controller, MISO back) or a control-signal pair plus a single feedback line. All channels are unidirectional, so plan your data flow accordingly; a bidirectional bus like I2C needs a different isolator architecture.
Propagation delay and pulse-width distortion — timing budget factors
Maximum propagation delay is 100ns each way, with pulse-width distortion capped at 40ns. Rise and fall times are 2.5ns typical.
