The ADUM3224WARZ: It delivers 4A peak output current and provides 3000Vrms galvanic isolation between the input logic and the output drive stage.
4A peak drive — sizing the power stage
The 4A peak output current charges gate capacitance. The 12ns rise and fall times (typical) and 54ns maximum propagation delay (both edges) are symmetrical, which simplifies dead-time calculation in half-bridge and full-bridge topologies.
Package and supply rails
The part comes in a 16-SOIC package with a 3.90mm body width — the narrow SOIC-16 footprint common in automotive modules. It is surface-mount only, so no socketed replacement in the field. The output supply range (4.5V to 18V) covers the typical gate-drive voltages for IGBTs (15V) and SiC MOSFETs (18V), as well as logic-level MOSFETs at 5V. The input side is powered from the same 4.5V to 18V rail or a separate isolated supply — the datasheet application circuits show the usual bootstrap or isolated DC-DC arrangement for the high-side channel.
Lifecycle and sourcing
It is ROHS3 compliant and available through independent distribution. There is no LTB risk on this part today.
