The ADUM3221ARZ is a 2-channel isolated gate driver from the iCoupler family, built around magnetic coupling technology. It delivers 4A peak output current per channel, enough to drive the gate charge of medium-power SiC MOSFETs and IGBTs in half-bridge and full-bridge topologies. The 2500Vrms isolation rating and 25kV/µs common-mode transient immunity let it sit on the high-side rail of a motor drive or inverter phase leg without losing data integrity during hard switching events.
60 ns propagation delay — timing budget for dead-time
Propagation delay is specified at 60ns max for both tpLH and tpHL, with rise and fall times both 20ns typical. That matched delay means the dead-time inserted in the PWM controller doesn't need extra guard band for driver skew. The output supply range of 4.5V to 18V covers standard gate drive rails for both Si MOSFETs (10V-12V) and SiC devices (15V-18V).
For high-volume reflow, the same die is available in tape-and-reel variants under the ADUM3221 family.
